The purpose of this page is to explain how to order products from Ken's Kreations.
The catalogue of items for sale begins at the My Kreations page. There are numerous subsidiary pages that branch out from there.
When you find something you're interested in, click on the button which says "Buy Me". That will open a new browser window with a page from Square with which you'll use to provide your details and payment information. Note that the "$X" figure is all inclusive. There are no additional costs for shipping, taxes and so on.
Square is an international company that sells payment card processing to merchants like me. You may have heard of them or even used their services before. Square spares me the tremendous logistical work of being a payment card merchant. Because of their volume, they can be experts in all types of payment forms: credit cards, debit, Google Pay, Apple Pay and so on. They also excel at processing payments properly and safely. That's good for both of us as you can pay how you want and I can offer my customers flexibility I couldn't otherwise. Well, I could if I wanted to make it a full time job. I have no idea how you're paying and I don't need to know. I only need to know that you have. Square will take a portion of the purchase price for the service they provide me and then send me the rest of your payment. The only information Square will keep for me is your shipping information and email address which I'll use to fulfill your order.
After your payment is processed Square will notify me that an order has been received from you and that will be my cue to make your item.
I began Ken's Kreations in October, 2020. There are a lot of things I'll figure out as time goes one. One practice I'm starting out with is thinking people will be happy to buy items one at a time. Square does give you the option of buying multiples of the same item but there is no shopping cart. By the way, please contact me if you wanted to buy a significant number of items. I could offer a volume discount
The main factor in the "no shopping cart" decision is shipping. I can send out my kreations one at a time by way of Canada Post lettermail. This is the most affordable shipping method for me and still gives two or three day service to most parts of Canada. I can certainly satisfy orders for multiple items but I may send items out separately - whichever way would be most cost effective. Shipping more than one item in the same package means I need to use parcel post which can be 3, 4 or more times the price of shipping items one at a time. My items are pretty inexpensive (I think) and using parcel post could conceivably double the price of the item. So, that's why I've started out doing things they way I have. If you want more than one thing, I hope you won't mind going through the purchase process more than once. If that's a problem then please let me know.
I plan to learn as I go along and if demand is such that I need to do things differently I will. As of the time I launched the website though, I didn't know if I would sell any kreations so I've set up what I think is a workable process and which is not breaking my bank. I hope you will let me know if there are things I could do better and I would be delighted to know that you care enough about what I'm selling to want me to do things differently.
